Best Rooms For Heritage Oak Flooring
Cleaning Heritage Oak wood flooring
Despite its high-impact effect, real wood flooring is simple to maintain as it grows into your home.
Consider the areas that experience the highest volume of traffic and ensure they are maintained by brushing and vacuuming frequently, and that any spills are dealt with as they happen.
Solid wood flooring can withstand mopping and steaming, but we recommend that water exposure is kept to a minimum to avoid staining and overabsorption. For best results, use damp microfiber cloths in a buffing movement to bring clarity back to your flooring.

Finishing Heritage Oak wood flooring
Uniquely your hardwood floor
All our real wood flooring comes planed and unfinished, leaving the details up to you. Embrace the natural aging of our organic grain or add an extra level of nuance to your home with a stain of your choice.
Scratches and scuffs are a part of life, and we believe that every nick and notch elevate the appeal and texture of rustic oak wood flooring. However, our solid oak can be restored to their desirable form by sanding and re-staining, breathing new life and shine into your long-term investment.
Our Heritage Oak Flooring Projects
FAQs: Heritage Oak wood flooring
What's your recommended laying technique?
We suggest face fixing the boards (due to their wide width) using a special screw we can tell you all about, but there are other methods of laying that we can talk you through at your consultation.
How do I finish Heritage Oak flooring?
A little bit of sanding using some techniques that we can share with you. It’s a floor that gives as much or as little as you want. It will need finishing with an easy-to-apply product; we can help you decide which one.
Is it suitable for kitchens & bathrooms?
Yes, you can lay all our hardwood flooring in kitchens and bathrooms, but we recommend applying an extra layer of your chosen finish. Just clear up any water spills, as with any flooring.
What widths are available?
Our most standard method of producing your Heritage Oak flooring is with mixed widths, where we include approximately four (sometimes more or less depending on the size of the order) different widths.
All boards are in 1″ increments between 125mm and 300mm, and we include an approximately equal sqm proportion of each size. Unless specified otherwise, we always put in one of our widest sizes (250mm+).
We can machine to one set size between this range, but it is at an additional cost to our standard price.
Is Heritage Oak flooring compatible with underfloor heating?
Yes. Approximately 75% of our customers fit our flooring over underfloor heating systems, and it’s one of our specialities. We favour this method of constant low-level heating rather than a concentrated radiator intensely heating only one area of the room. Find out more in our resource centre or schedule a call with our knowledgeable team.
How can I clean my hardwood floor?
Cleaning your Heritage Oak flooring is as easy as enjoying it. Keep it free of dust and debris with frequent brushing and vacuuming and try to minimise water exposure where possible to keep your finish looking fresh.
Are hardwood floors hard to maintain?
Given their natural properties, solid oak flooring is incredibly durable, making it easy to maintain. Furniture pads can be used to protect from denting, but for maximum results over time, ensure your Heritage Oak floor is sanded and re-stained at least once every [insert number] of years.
Do you deliver?
Can hardwood floors get wet or be steam cleaned?
They can, but it’s not ideal. Try to keep water exposure to a minimum to avoid overabsorption and problems associated with it.
How do you get scratches out of hardwood flooring?
We think the natural wear of hardwood flooring only adds to its charm, but if you’re after a cleaner look, a fresh sand and varnish will bring new life to well-loved flooring.
When to sand hardwood floors?
This is entirely up to you and depends on the finish you are after. Once our real wood panels are fitted, they’ll last you a lifetime: sanding will bring a fresh finish to your floors and can be done whenever you’re looking for something new from your home.
