Ash flooring
Enjoy the timeless depth of Ash wood flooring. With rolling ribbons of character balanced by subtle blush and olive tones, this classic British-grown hardwood is the perfect addition to any home.
Light, bright and lively
Let the warmth of real Ash hardwood elevate your living spaces. Despite wearing fewer knots than our Classic Oak flooring, its beauty lies within the simple glow of amber and some natural beams of olive throughout.
Paired with natural finishes, thick fabrics and chunky textures, Ash flooring comes alive. Its bright and balanced tones handle rich colours and materials well, making it the perfect floor for any interior.
As with all of our real hardwood, our Ash flooring is always 100% grown and manufactured in Britain, adding a local and sustainable stamp to any classic home or renovation project.

Cleaning Ash wood flooring
Despite its high-impact effect, real wood flooring is simple to maintain as it settles into your home.
Consider the areas that experience the highest volume of traffic and ensure they are maintained by brushing and vacuuming frequently, and that any spills are dealt with as they arise.
Solid wood flooring can withstand mopping and steaming, but we recommend that water exposure is kept to a minimum to overabsorption. For best results, watch our wood floor cleaning video for a ‘how to guide’.

Finishing Ash flooring
All of our real wood flooring comes planed and unfinished, leaving the details up to you. Embrace the natural aging of our organic grain pattern or add an extra level of nuance to your home with a finish of your choice.
Scratches and scuffs are a part of life, and we believe that every nick and notch elevate the appeal and texture of real wood flooring. Our solid Ash wood will age gracefully but can be restored to its desirable form by sanding and refinishing, bringing a refreshed look to your long-term investment.
Our Ash Flooring Projects
FAQs: Ash flooring
What's your recommended laying technique?
We suggest face fixing the boards (due to their wide width) using a special screw we can tell you all about, but there are other methods of laying that we can talk you through at your consultation.
How do I finish Ash wood flooring?
Many of our customers sand their hardwood flooring to reduce the appearance of any planer marks. Once prepared, we recommend applying a stain or oil to get the most out of your real Ash flooring. Whether you’re looking for something light to embrace its natural grain, or deep to enhance the richness, we can help you choose a finish that’s right for you.
Is it suitable for kitchens & bathrooms?
Yes, you can lay all our hardwood flooring in kitchens and bathrooms, but we recommend applying an extra layer of your chosen finish. Just clear up any spills, as with any flooring.
What widths are available?
Our most standard method of producing your Ash flooring is with mixed widths, where we include approximately four (sometimes more or less depending on the size of the order) different widths.
All boards are in 1″ increments between 125mm and 350mm, and we include an approximately equal sqm proportion of each size. Unless specified otherwise, we always put in one of our widest sizes (250mm+).
We can machine to one set size between this range, but it is at an additional cost to our standard price.
Is Ash wood flooring compatible with underfloor heating?
Yes. Approximately 75% of our customers fit our flooring over underfloor heating systems, and it’s one of our specialities. We favour this method of constant low-level heating rather than a concentrated radiator intensely heating only one area of the room. Find out more in our resource centre or schedule a call with our knowledgeable team.
How can I clean my hardwood floor?
Cleaning your hardwood flooring is as easy as enjoying it. Keep it free of dust and debris with frequent brushing and vacuuming and try to minimise water exposure where possible to keep your finish looking fresh.
Are hardwood floors hard to maintain?
Given its natural properties, solid Ash flooring is incredibly durable, making it easy to maintain. Furniture pads can be used to protect from denting, but there is no harm in sanding and restaining every couple of years to restore your hardwood floor to its original state.
Do you deliver?
We deliver our solid wood flooring across the UK, providing tailored delivery quotes determined by your delivery postcode and order amount.
Can hardwood floors get wet or be steam cleaned?
They can, but it’s not ideal. Try to keep water exposure to a minimum to avoid overabsorption.
How do you get scratches out of hardwood flooring?
We think the natural wear of hardwood flooring only adds to its charm, but if you’re after a cleaner look, a fresh sand and varnish will bring new life to well-loved flooring.
When to sand hardwood floors?
This is entirely up to you and depends on the finish you are after. Once our real wood flooring is fitted, they’ll last you a lifetime: sanding will bring a fresh finish to your floors and can be done whenever you’re looking for something new from your home.
